Ocean Village development proposal: what happened?

The Town of Cambridge consulted the community and took the position that the preferred development outcome is mixed use development up to six storeys.

Blackburne ignored the Town’s position by submitting a Development Application for both 23 and 10 storey buildings directly to the WA Planning Commission (WAPC) under a process introduced in response the pandemic.

The WAPC will consider public submission and The Town’s response when it decides whether to approve or reject the application.

Therefore, if you have a strong view on the proposal, it is imperative you make a submission to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) by 26 Aug 2024.

The DPLH referred the Blackburne application to the Town to give input by Friday, 20 Sep 2024.

See our resources and documents for suggested short and long-form submissions.

... So, we respond to DPLH, who advise SDAU who advise WAPC, for sign off by Minister. Seems one key contact missing is our local MP. A shame.
